Thank you to vnbphoto for featuring my work!
So, it’s been a reaaaallly long time since I’ve posted, and a lot has happened. I’m going to try to keep this blog updated more frequently in the future.
First of all, for the past month or so I have been interning at the lovely South x Southeast Photomagazine. It is a fairly new online monthly, print quarterly photography magazine ran by Nancy McCrary, who also happens to be the co-director of Slow Exposures. I’ve been handling the social media updates on their facebook and twitter and will be putting together the layouts for the next few print editions.
If you subscribe, you’ll get to see a lovely little feature on my work and I in this month’s issue!
Another exciting development is that I have been accepted and will be attending Texas Woman’s University this fall to pursue my MFA in photography!
I’ll be keeping you updated! I have some new filmed scanned that I’ll post soon and some summer projects in the works!
…and much has changed. I graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Photography and minor in Printmaking, I moved to New York for the summer to intern with Sylvia Plachy, and at the end of this month I’ll be headed back to Georgia. I’ll be there for a few months before I move away again. But this time, I don’t know where I’m headed. If I’m lucky, I’ll be heading out West to start a project that has been 4 years in the making.
I’ll post some pictures from NYC soon. I have to go get some film processed!
Here’s a peek into some new work of mine. I’ll post more stuff later.
They’re part of a series of 22 minute pinhole exposures I did with 4x5 paper negatives in which I confront my physical insecurities and come to terms with them. It’s a work in progress.
If you’re in the Atlanta area, be sure to come to this show featuring some exciting work by myself and my Alternative Process class.
Come check out Ante Up, Or Fold featuring the work of myself, eleven other seniors, and three grad students from SCAD. It’s going to be good!
Hey everyone! First of all, I’d like to welcome my new followers. Also, to those who were wondering, my Release series is a combination of drawing, scratching, and burning my 4x5 negatives.
On another note, I just started another quarter at SCAD and I don’t have a photo studio class. :( I will, of course, still be shooting and will be posting some new stuff soon. Maybe even some digital stuff.. Coming from me that’s probably weird, but I got a new lens over the break.
I’m going to be graduating in the Spring and I still have so much I need to do! Processing old film, scanning my archive of negatives, creating a website, and still finding time to shoot.
Stay posted! I’ll be updating soon.
Until then, check out my carbonmade here!
